Our Family Has a Story to Tell

Grit & Grace is the dream of Brandon and Melody Miles. After working 17 years in the insurance sector for Brandon and 11 years in elementary education for Melody, the idea of creating the market was born. While we enjoyed our jobs, we both felt there was something else we were supposed to be doing, a way for us to work together creatively to use untapped God-given gifts and interests as a way to give back to the community we loved.

We have always enjoyed the history and nostalgia of antiques and spent many hours browsing antique stores here in Southeast Tennessee and across the country. Weekend and seasonal markets held the same kind of attraction with their unique artisan crafts as well as their ability to showcase local talent and artistry. We became fascinated with the stories behind these vintage and handmade items. The idea that Cleveland, Tennessee, should have a place that featured both of these groups, pickers and local artisans, seemed like a logical step for the growing community, and just like that, the idea was born!

This idea combines the history of a charming southern town with some of the most talented artisans in the Southeast. It is an idea that every piece, whether antique or artisan crafted, has a story to tell. A story that captures the grit of well-made antique pieces that allows them to stand the test of time, and the grace of artisans that meticulously hone and perfect their craft.
